Male Infertility Testing
Various Semen Analysis Tests for Male Infertility
Male infertility tests provide an invaluable opportunity to address concerns about a male's ability to father a child. The World Health Organization has defined male infertility on the basis of the concentration of sperm in semen. Did you know you need 20 million sperm per mL to be considered fertile? There are a variety of tests such as genetic testing and semen analysis that can be performed to determine fertility. The tests are painless and only take a few minutes, although it will take a week or two to receive results from the laboratory.
While a great test results is good news, unfortunately it is not proof of fertility. Marginal or poor test results combined with the analysis of other information will indicate to Dr. Bastuba what treatments are appropriate. Further testing may be necessary to determine the condition of the sperm. Take our online fertility test to test your level of fertility.
