Dr. Bastuba and the staff of Male Fertility & Sexual Medicine Specialists (MFS) have been helping couples and individuals overcome infertility and sexual dysfunction since 1993. Over the years, many couples have written us letters of thanks to share their story and inspire others.

		I am a patient of Dr. Bastuba’s. I have been fortunate to be his patient for the past 18 years. We first met soon after I moved to San Diego from out of state; I was not doing well at all when it came to my health. I had a lot of symptoms that none of the doctors I had seen up to that point had been able to diagnose, and I felt an overall decline in my well-being. That all changed when I met Dr. Bastuba, he quickly diagnosed my urological problems that had become very serious and at required surgery. Dr. Bastuba performed the surgery spectacularly and my recovery was easier then I ever imagined. In the next few years I was able to have two more children with my wife. I was able to, in my fifties, enjoy a second youth through the birth of these two daughters. I am extremely grateful for the treatment and care I received from Dr. Bastuba. He gave me a new lease on life, both when it comes to my health and when it comes to the joy of fatherhood. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Bastuba. He has continued to care for my health over the years; he is my most important and trusted doctor, and friend.

		I'm so happy to be writing this letter to you. We got pregnant two and a half years after our vasectomy reversal. We were actively trying for a long time and when we gave up trying, it happened!?! We are so overjoyed with our miracle baby. Jagger is six months old now, and he is quite a handful, but soo sweet. We are overjoyed and so grateful. His big sister, age 7, and brother, age 9, are over the moon as well with our blessing. Thank you!!!
		I had a vasectomy when I was too young to know better, and after an 8 year marriage....got divorced. I remarried and had a reversal attempted. The reversal was unsuccessful and my wife and I were attempting to deal with the fact that we might not have children of our own. After researching many doctors and doing my homework, I felt convinced that traveling to San Diego to have Dr. Bastuba attempt to reverse 'course', was the right thing to do... so we made the trip. It was approximately 60 days after my surgery that we found out my wife was pregnant! Several years and 3 beautiful girls later we have decided our family is complete! GOD works miracles and in this instance, he used Dr. Bastuba's mind and hands to bring 3 new lives into this world.
		I meant to write long ago, but my life has been very busy thanks to Dr. Bastuba. My husband had a vasectomy reversal back in June of 2009 and even though I knew Dr. Bastuba's success rates were high, I never imagined that I would become pregnant only 3 months after the surgery! Not only that, we got the girl we dreamed about! She is 16 months old now and just perfect. This would have never been possible without Dr. Bastuba. You are blessed with a wonderful gift. 		You did a vasectomy reversal in November 2006. Nearly 25 years after my husband's vasectomy, we welcomed our son into this world. He was born June 26, 2008, 10:50pm, 8lbs., 3oz., 22 inches. Thank you!

		In late September 2005, you performed a MESA procedure on my Husband so he could have biological children in spite of his cystic fibrosis. We've never formally thanked you for helping us and making our dreams of conceiving and bearing children a reality. But we're thanking you now. We've enclosed a picture of our fraternal twin girls, born May 31, 2006 at 34 weeks gestation. They were the first two embryos implanted in our first cycle of IVF. Now, at 9 months they weigh 17 lbs 13oz and 16lbs 7oz. They are doing great! Thank you again for making it possible for us to have children together.
		We finally had our little guy. Jackson was born on June 9th, healthy and happy. Thanks for all your help! Wishing you a happy heart and a happy holiday!
		Enclosed is a picture of the little miracle you helped us to create. She was born on July 3, weighing 8 lbs 1oz. A 12 weeks she is approx. 13 lbs and 24 inches long, the the 90th percentile for both! She is going to be tall like her father. Thanks for doing what you do an helping us create a family.

		We take great joy in informing you of the birth of our son, Griffin Barett. This wonderful event could not have happened without the miracles performed by you and your staff. As you may recall, we came to your office after both a failed IVF cycle and a failed vasectomy reversal with other physicians. You performed an epididymal sperm extraction on my husband. 		Guess what?! We're pregnant! With twins! One girl and one boy:) We can't thank you enough for the guidance and support you have given us over the past year, to help make this dream of ours come true. We were about to do IVF, but my doctor wanted to do one more "diagnostic" test that involved taking Clomid. I only took 2 of the 5 doses, however, because I started having side effects. So we kept waiting for my cycle to start again so we could proceed with IVF ... but it never did! It appears those 2 doses of clomid jump-started my ovaries, plus my husband's increase in sperm count made for a good enough swim team to achieve ... TWINS! We are so thrilled, and are so happy to be sharing this news with you. We'll make sure to stop by for a visit after they are born. Thank you for your time and generosity. You were so kind in explaining things so thoroughly to us. We really appreciate your compassion.
		We want to express our deepest thanks for the role you played in bringing our special baby into our lives. We appreciate your willingness to try a new procedure on my husband, to minimize our costs. It revealed your integrity and character. We can't put into words how much joy and wonder our miraculous baby girl has brought us.

The microdissection testicular sperm extraction procedure will give me the "best" chance of providing usable sperm. My wife's fertility drug protocol was changed to provide her with the "best" chance at producing the most quality eggs possible. And finally, I chose the best urologist to perform this procedure. 		You did my husband Michael's reversal surgery in November 2000, and by July 2001, thanks to you and the Lord, our prayers and dreams were answered. About 6 weeks early, on January 24, 2002, Casey blessed us with his arrival. 5 lbs. 3 oz. and 19 inches long into this world he came.
